Little pickle

Multi-faceted fool.

Fear not. This clown is just here to party. Little Pickle is a gender bending slag with an undeniable urge to boogie on down. Always bringing the good vibes, spectacular moves and out of this world outfits. The clown who confidently straddles the line between silly and sexy. Even the biggest gherkin haters can’t resist this Little Pickle…

FermeNted foolishness

Oh what a privilege to be a fool. To actively embrace joy with embodied silliness. There is great importance in foolishness. In being able to prioritise laughter over all else. The world is burning but we can go down smiling. Little Pickle is all about finding joy and sharing it. Play the fool! Paint your face! Boogie hard! No dance floor too big, no stage too small. Release yourself to the process of letting go. Join the foolish resistance and clown around just a bit. Little Pickle welcomes you with open arms, go on… have a little fun.

The man behind the mask

(the non-binary person beneath the clown paint)

Underneath it all is Kai Davis- neurodivergent, non-binary performance artist. Kai enjoys making work that teeters on the edge of boundaries, refusing to be boxed in by theatrical convention. Following their undergraduate degree in Drama Studies, Kai began to experiment in the world of cabaret. At first trying on a drag king persona named ‘Daddy Long Legs’ while on SoHo Theatre’s Cabaret and Drag Lab (2019). It wasn’t until an invite to a friends party with the theme ‘dress like you voted for Donald Trump’ prompted the creation of a clown costume, where an unprecedented sense of non-binary euphoria rose from the soles of those clown shoes and Little Pickle was born.

Alongside the charming drag persona, Kai is on a pursuit of knowledge. Currently completing their Masters of Research degree, investigating the relationship between clown-drag and non-binary identities. Alongside their studies, Kai is also working on upcoming project Spectrum; a solo, semi-biographical performance piece that explores themes of neurodivergence and lost childhoods.
